Introduction In the demanding industrial landscape of the Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad regions, selecting a material that can withstand both heavy monsoons and high thermal loads is critical. For decades, standard galvanized steel was the go-to choice, but today, Galvalume has become the global engineering standard. At Rishonn & Reyansh, Galvalume is our preferred material for its unmatched durability.
What exactly is Galvalume? Galvalume is a specialized coating consisting of 55% Aluminum, 43.4% Zinc, and 1.6% Silicon over a steel base. This unique combination creates a "barrier protection" from the aluminum and a "sacrificial protection" from the zinc, giving the sheet a lifespan that is often 2 to 4 times longer than traditional galvanized steel.
Key Engineering Advantages
Superior Corrosion Resistance: The aluminum components provide an incredibly stable barrier against moisture, essential for industrial sheds in high-humidity zones.
Heat Reflectivity: Galvalume reflects a large percentage of solar heat away from the building, keeping the factory interior cooler and reducing energy costs.
High-Temperature Performance: Unlike standard coatings, Galvalume can withstand higher temperatures without discoloring or losing its protective properties.
Flexibility: It can be roll-formed into various profiles without the coating cracking or peeling at the bends.

R&R VERDICT: When comparing materials for a new industrial shed, Galvalume is the most logical long-term investment. While the "AZ-150" coating is our standard recommendation for most factories, we suggest a higher coating grade for chemical processing units. It offers the best balance of strength, heat management, and rust prevention currently available in the Indian market.
